Here we see the rare northern tortoise shell house cat stalking her prey. House cats are noted for their ability to sneak up on the notoriously skittish corn kernel.
If you think I'm the sort of person who will make a big deal about reaching a big round number like 100, you clearly don't know me very well. It's just a number. At least 99 let me make a vague hockey related joke in the title. So here's a picture of a weed growing in my back yard. I really went all out for you.
This is the burdock plant. It's a nasty weed that grows prolifically in my yard. I can't stand these things. Sure, I've made it look pretty here but then they dry out and those little hooks catch on everything. These things were apparently the inspiration for velcro. But velco isn't anywhere near as effective at sticking as this stuff. There's nothing more annoying than trying to pry those things out of a dogs coat or your own sweater. Naturally these are growing in a spot the mower can't reach. Ugh.
Yet another flower that I don't know the name of. The owner told me but I quickly forgot it. In my defense it was one of those names that doesn't exactly roll of the tongue. I'm not even sure I could pronounce it, never mind remember it.
Anyone want to take a guess at how many excuses for not knowing the names of things I'll use by the end of this year long project?
This was a weird rain shower. It was very narrow, so you could see it coming at you in a sheet. And because it was so narrow, the sun was shining the whole time. The entire storm lasted about four minutes. And since it was so hot today, you could see the water steaming off the pavement afterward.
There was a light fog tonight so I went out looking for some interesting lights to shoot. This is a street light eclipsed by a tree with a little league field in the foreground. I wanted to do some other shots but gave up due to a ferocious mosquito onslaught.
